When you are consuming calories at your maintenance level, your maintenance calories will be the same as your total daily energy expenditure (TDEE).
This means the amount of calories in will equal the amount of calories out and bodyweight will remain static.
If your bodyweight hasn’t changed for some time and your activity level has remained the same, then whether you realise it or not, you are consuming calories at maintenance level.
This is why tracking is important and beneficial particularly for calories consumed. Many people believe they are eating less than they actually are and become frustrated when the result stall.
